So, you're wondering, "who are you?" and
"what are you doing?",
Well....good questions.
Who I am
I've been playing music for longer than I'd like to admit. I
started playing in bands for real in high school. I played with the band
"Free Reins" (later "Free Rein" pretty slick, huh?) for all
of the 80's. In the 90's, I played with "Birdhouse", doing 99.5%
original material and releasing a cd, Serendipity Doo. In 1999
came the Rusty Griswolds (basically Free Rein). After not playing in 2003/2004,
I decided to do the solo thing in January, 2005. After some coaxing, I
decided in March, 2006 to join a group of guys from various area bands to form
what eventually became The Whammies.
What I'm doing
Right now I split my time between playing
solo and playing with the Whammies. When playing solo I play some popular
cover songs, some not-so-popular cover songs with some original songs thrown in.
(the not-so-popular songs are still good, just......not-so-popular) The Whammies
are predominantly an 80's band. Please check out our website at

How I do the solo stuff
You didn't ask, but I'll tell you
anyway.
It's really just a step beyond
the old Birdhouse days where all the keyboard parts were programmed. What I have done is to not only program the keyboard
parts, but program everything. It's a lot safer this way, trust me. I play
guitar on most songs, but I do attempt to play the keyboard on a few. Everything
you will hear will be played live, if not by me, by my faithful machine. My
machine is never late for rehearsal, doesn't have a sex drive, or low alcohol tolerance. So, I
think we're pretty safe. Believe me, every note and drum beat you hear was played
by me.
